2012 MASTERS CHAMPION
BUBBA WATSON
The shot heard around the world
It took the second sudden death playoff hole to a crown a 2012 Masters Champion. Bubba Watson pulled off one of the most memorable shots in Masters history. Bubba defeated Louis Oosthuizen in spectacular fashion on the 74th hole of the tournament finishing -10. After a horrible miss with his driver left, Watson hit an incredible second shot from the deep woods that ran to within 10 feet of the hole. 2 putts later, par was all that was needed for Bubba to add a green blazer to his wardrobe.
In a Masters that saw Rory MciIroy and Tiger Woods out of contention, this years tournament turned into one of the most exciting Master's all of all-time. There were horrible putts, shanks, snap hooks and triple bogeys. There were double eagles, great up and downs and clutch putts from an incredible leader board. When the dust settled a new golf superstar emerged.
The self taught left hander has reached golf's elite and has done so without ever having a lesson, combine that with his whacky shot shapes and being one of the longest hitters on tour, Bubba has gone from The People's Champion to an actual Major winner. Is Bubba poised to make a run at #1 in the world? TBD...
