VERNON WELLS VS. ALEX RODRIGUEZ 

BATTLE FOR THE WORST CONTRACT IN MLB

A-Rod is the man at the moment that everyone is trashing for not performing up to standards. Let's compare A-Rod to a local huge contract underachiever - no i'm not talking about Albert Pujols, stop it of course I'm talking about Vernon Wells you already saw his name in the title of the article. In keeping with the what have you done for me lately mindset I will break down key stats from just the last 3 seasons. 

While Angels fans think that Vernon Wells contract is like roster carcinogen it really isn't any worse then what the Yankees are saddled  with in A-Rod's deal.  Angels fans fail to realize that while Wells average has fallen off the map he is still a power threat and plays a great LF.

To put A-Rod's 3 season WAR total in perspectative Mike Trout this season  surpassed A-Rod's total in less then 1 full season.  

We can see that 10 million dollars more a year gets you 12 more  runs a season, 12 more hits a and 20 more RBI. So I say calm down Angels fans it isn't the end of the world.
